Hi I'm interested in buying a tripod that I can take with me hiking. I have the EOS 20D and my largest lens is the Canon 70-300 DO. Together they probably weigh less than 4 pounds. Two that I'm looking at are the Gitzo 1027(about $300 without head) and Velbon MAXI343E (about$120). Size and weight are pretty important and I know the light tripods aren't going to be as stable as the heavier ones. I'm 6'3" so I will probably have to spend some time on my knees. Any suggestions?
