Converting Slides to Images with your Canon S2???

Has anyone used a slide copier with your S2? If so, what brand did you use and how did it work out. I have a lot of old slides that I would love to convert but haven't found a good method to get this done without spending $$$$$.

    Thanks.

    Scanner

I have a flat bed scanner and it is extremely time consuming to scan each slide - it takes longer (at least on my scanner) to scan slides vs pictures. The copier was something I could do while waiting on my kids during practice, etc. rather than being tied to the scanner.

I do slide coping with my Nikon 995 but have not come up with the right combination of adapters yet to do it with my S2. I bought a DCR-250 closeup lens from Lensmate so I could do close up with zoom (S2 is locked into wide angle for macro). I still need to make or find an adapter to move the slide adapter I have out 2 inches or so from the front of the closeup lens.

It does work well with the 995 and I can copy slides at over 100/hour. I have copied about 1,000 slides so far. You just point it out a window or at a relatively broad spectrum light source. The auto whitepoint corrects for the light source and it will work even with tungsten lights but you get a little more nose in the blues. There is some post processing to fix cropping from the original shot and some need color correction. I setup a PhotoShop action that works on about 75% of the shots and the rest either need nothing or longer hand correction. I would estimate 50/hour post processing rate but it is highly dependent on the quality of the originals.
