    ideas for a sony lens...

I'm going to pick up a Sony Alpha in the next few days. I'm shooting a wedding and thought I'd test it out, seems like a nice piece.

Anyways. I'm wanting to also purchase a fast low light lens....pref 2.8 or lower that isn't extremly expensive. I'd probably need 50mm+. What's a good buy?

The Tamron 28-75 f2.8 XR would be a good choice I guess.
You are aware of the fact that the Sony A100 is more noisy at ISO 800 and 1600 than the competition? Some wedding photographers like to use high ISO settings so they can play with light.

The Tamron 28-75 is a great lens, but I don't know whether I'd use it in a wedding. There are many, many reports out there about the lens having trouble focusing in low light. You might want to put the lens through its paces first before bringing it to the real thing.

Here are a bunch of comments on the 28-75 from our very own members.
