    confused

    first time buyer of digital camera was initially interested in canon a620 but after visiting camera store yesterday i like the olympus sp-500 uz because of the 10x optical zoom, the red eye fix , but it doesn't seem to have good reviews on the net any suggestions?
    I'd be taking pics of my kids playing sports, wildlife, general use.
    I need help!

    We have an SP-500 here at my work and I wasn't too impressed with it. it's not bad, but at the long end of the zoom range, you are going to get a blurry image short of it being a bright sunny day.

    You cannot realistically use the zoom ability of the camera indoors or in the evening. Overcast days can even cause problems. The ISO performance was only so-so.

    Canon's A series camera's have extremely good reviews. However, you would be without the zoom range of the SP-500.
