Lenses...damn the learning curve...
ok..here I go posting the thread that I warned about in "Caught between two Canons"
So the question is...can I get some advisement on some lens purchases given what I want to do (see above referenced thread if your lost about what i mean).
Say I have a budget of $1000 (maybe a bit more) and REALLY prefer to stick with Canon.
Here are some of what I am considering and some prices from a local camera store. ( www.adraycamera.com )
50mm f/1.8 (if I can, the f/1.4) $74.95 ($309.95 -$25 rebate)
-dcresource buying guide says "a MUST have"
-might as well figure I am getting this one
17-40 f/4L USM -$679.95 - $50 rebate
-was cautioned about getting an ultra wide early in the game
-REALLY tempted
28-200mm f/3.5-5.6 USM - $359.95
-seems like a GREAT price
70-200 f/4L USM - $619.00 - $40 rebate
-thinking I would really need IS tho
17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM - $529.00
-once again...the caution about the ultra wide...but has IS
28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS USM - $429.00
-seems like a good option
-strongly leaning toward this one
I already know I definately need to get the 430EX.
Thanks in advance for all your input...AGAIN!!!
