    S70 vs G6 Price a consideration ;)

    I will be using it to take pictures of mountains in Peru when I am cross country skiing.

    Yes it would help to keep the shutter speed well above 1/200 sec. Pretty much any digital camera with manual controls would work. For a little extra insurance image stabilization might help as well. There are several of these out there from Konika-Minolta, Panasonic, Canon, and Nikon under the heading of AS, IS, and VR.

    Models are:

    Konica-Minolta Z3, A1 & A2,

    Pansonic DMC-FZ1, FZ3, FZ10, FZ15, FZ20, FX5 & FX7

    Canon: S1 IS

    Nikon: CoolPix 8800

    Again, if you can set the shutter speed pretty high, then you may not need image stabilization, but it couldn't hurt.
    D7000, D70, D990, D900, FE + a lens or 6.
