    FZ10 & Ipod (or similar)

Very happy with my FZ10 - it has so much going for it. But takking 100s of photos inevitable fills memeory cards up. I hate having to decide on what to delete based on an 1 1/4 inch screen - I want to see and study before I delete.
It has occurred to me that, rather than buy more memory cards, could I purchase an Ipod or similar and transfer images to there? If so, any recommendations for required software/cables/ etc?

    All help appreciated

Wouldn't the memory cards be cheaper overall? And I don't think you can connect directly from the camera to the IPOD -- each device connects to a PC/Mac.

I just dump the pictures to my laptop. I only have a 128MB SD card (was only $19.99), but need to get a 512MB or 1024MB when I can afford it.

yeah, I'd rather invest in a 1gb card for example. or do what I did last vacation I went on and take a laptop (borrow one if you can) and you can unload your photos on to there when you stop back at the hotel

You could get some make of digital wallet such as this

    or this one is cheaper

As you can see if you have any use for a laptop that might be the way to go.

In a word, yes you can transfer your images directly to the Ipod.

Costs $99 though, but potentially you could store a LOT of images!

    Thanks for responses

Thanks for that - particuarly the idea of the Belkin Media Reader. However, is it possible to just plug the iPod into the camera's USB port?

I should explain that whilst travelling I travel light (so no laptop), but I've been toying wqith an Ipod for a while anyway. I couldn't justify buying one for the Photos only, but if its got some sounds on as well - it makes financial sense.

    This might interest you.

Whilst it doesnt look like you will be able to transfer directly, the extra capacity and color screen etc should be great

Sounds like you'd like a Belkin camera link. And an iPod Photo, of course.

Unless you're on extended travel and can't take a laptop with you, though, I'd advocate simply carrying extra memory cards.
