PS - Mine's on the UPS truck for delivery today! I'll post some comparison shots against my 28-70L@70 and my 135L@135.

I sent my 70-200mm f/2.8L IS copy back to B&H today. They are sending me another one 2nd day air.

I picked up my 24-70mm f/2.8L at UPS this morning. I love this lens. It is what they say "tack" sharp. Love my images so far.

The customer service folks at B&G were asking me if it might be a back focusing or front focusing issue with the 70-200mm L IS that I sent back. I'm not sure what they mean by "back focusing" or "front focusing"??????

I just know that I gave that lens every chance I could and it failed. Can't wait to get my next one. It's supposed to arrive Wednesday.

I'm wanting to get a 3rd L lense. I'd listen to any suggestions.

Don't give up on the 70-200 IS

It will probably be your favourite lens once you get it sorted.

Depends on what you shoot the most. A good fast prime will help you keep your shutter speeds up in dark venues, so the 135L might be a good choice (you mentioned you shoot a lot of sports). You might also want to pick up a 1.4x extender. I plan to pick one up to make my 70-200 a 98-280 f4 IS.

On the other hand, your kit starts at a relatively zoomy 24mm (38.4 equivalent). A 17-40L (or 10-22 non-L) will widen your horizons!
