    Moon photos

    This is my very first moon photo taken just tonight. I'd appreciate if you could post comments and advices about moon pics. This is a 100% crop



    Here is the EXIF data


    Camera: DMC-FZ20
    Aperture: f 6.5
    ISO: 80
    Shutter speed: 1/50 s
    EV -0.33 EV
    Program: S - Shutter-priority auto
    Metering mode: Spot metering
    White balance: Automatic

    I think it quite good , a little overexposed but pretty good.

    The moon sure looks different in Mexico..I do not think I ever saw that view before.

    I would use aperture Priority rather than shutter priority or perhaps full manual to get the exposure down a bit.

    Thanks for the comments!.

    Simon, the settings i used were:

    EV -1/3
    Contrast: normal
    Saturation: normal
    Sharpness: high

    everything else is under the pic.

    it's a bit blown. try the same aperture and ISO settings, but use manual exposure mode and select a faster shutter speed... 1/125 to start. for a full moon, you can go as fast as 1/250.

    here is a pic i took a few minutes before (note the brown color)

    Metering mode: Multisegment
    White balance: Automatic



    Here is the same one but i removed the color (i think it looks better, the brown color was a bit odd)



    I still prefer the first one i took a couple of days ago.
