pentax optio s6

I have been looking at this camera and the spec seems very good. However I can find no reviews on it or info from people who have got the camera. Does anyone know why and does anyone have one?

I purchased the s6 just over a week ago. I'm in a dilemna about returning it becuase of image quality. In low light, the quality is not that great. It's either grainy or images come out too soft. The great thing about it is the size and the mpeg4 movie mode. Battery life is not that great either but comes with the territory with a 2.5" lcd and small size. Daytime images are good and the colour is natural. I can probably take better night shots now that I know what the camera is capable of, like making sure the I'm close enough to the subject or toying with the iso levels but the reason of a point & shoot camera is to just "point & shoot"

well..I've changed my mind about returning the s6. I picked up a canon sd400 (sd450 wasn't in stock) and the quality of images were roughly the same. The canon did turn out slightly better low light performance though. I didn't test the daytime images but I figured that it's probably just the same as well. The reason I'm keeping the s6 is due to better feature set at a lower cost. 1)Costs approx $30 cheaper for 1 extra MP 2)Movies can be recorded in mpeg4 format only limited by memory space. 3)The LCD is at 232,000 resolution versus canon's 112,000. While the Canon does have better reputation for image quality, I still don't think I'll be disappointed with the s6

I have just got a new pentax s6 camera. I have ad pentax cameras like the optio s in the past and like them.

I have some questions to ask other users of the s6 I am not user if I have a faulty camera. When I am shooting video in the sound I get a slight static sounding click from time to time. At first I thought that it was the tiny speaker just distorting but when I downloaded the file the clicking noise was there too. Does anyone else have this slight clicking sound on their video clips?

second question also refers to video. when shooting there does not look like there is a way to refocus the camera. Is this true? I cant find anything in the manual.

I have a pentax Optio S6. Somehow it seems that the focus or light meter requires that a preliminary flash be fired before the photo is taken when using flash. I don't believe this is just red eye reduction. Many of our photos come out with my baby's eyes half-closed because of this preliminary flash. Does anyone know what to do about this?

Most reviews of the Pentax S6 are quite soft. All in all, this camera has not gotten very good reviews.
