which camera is equivalent to optio555
Hi everybody,
which camera is equivalent to pentax optio555 (with similar characteristics) ??

It's kind of a unique animal, there's really nothing else that compact with that kind of zoom. The Olympus Uzi C765 and C770 are kind of compact, but not nearly as. Also, the Canon S60 is a bit more compact with similar features, but only has a 3.6x zoom instead of the Optio's 5x. Also, the S60 has a wider zoom, 28-100 instead of the Optio's 37.5-187.5.

I have 555 and it's unique, indeed. Olympus C770 is the smallest UZ camera, but it's still almost twice bigger then 555, chiefly thanks tu great (and big) lens. The biggest opponent of Pentax 555 is Sony V1 and thats really good camera. However, size of camera is important for me and that is big plus for 555 from me. Take yor time, read about V1 and 555, bouth cameras are great and you will find witch is better for you, depending of your taste of course.

Yeah, I forgot about the V1... still, it's only 4x, and isn't it bigger than the 555?

Yes, V1 is bigger than 555, i was talking aboth smaller dimensions .
I equally regard functionality, too. However, 555 probably isn't smallest list of functions which i ready to carry with me, but 555 has one of best ratio of dimensions and functionality.
