compact flash cards
This question is coming from a very new owner of a digital camera...i have only had my powershot a75 for a few days. I have gone out and bought a new 256 mb card, but have not yet opened it. I am now seeing that there are different speeds, and i looked at mine and it is a 4 times and i know that there is a lot faster. Would this one work fine in my camera, and if not, why and what should i buy...thx, i really appreciate this site and all those who take the time to help us less knowledgable...

It'll work fine. Higher speeds allow higher shot-to-shot rates in higher end cameras, but yours can't take advantage of this. In a card reader, a faster card might result in higher download speeds for you, but it''s probably not worth the extra $$$.
