Very cool background, much better than the common SP. If your shadow wasn't in it, I'd think you just pasted yourself in I'd love to see the original.

Great stuff for a self portait - are you telling us you used your D80 like a Point and shoot - if so - it's a great result - and I love that semi sepia effect too.

A friend of mine saw this and said that it looked like my shadow was coming to get me. However, If you see the original you will see that I really did make chicken salad out of chicken shit. Oh, and thats my driveway in the background.

No......I didn't use my D80 for this one. I used my Canon SD870IS. That doesn't mean I haven't tried using my D80 for shots like this.

Rather than make a double post, would you just take a look at my latest self-portraits?

Critique and suggestions always appreciated. This time I learned that even with AF, a stool is your friend for SPs

Tori, those look very nice.......the first one especially. The last one doesn't seem to have enough DOF and one of your eyes is out of focus, but I think you knew that. The first one looks spot on. Did you use i-TTL or did you adjust the flash manually? Looks like just enough.

Thanks, yep the large aperture got me on the 2nd one ... I adjusted the flash manually, based on what I saw in the LCD. I'm glad you like them

    Simply beautiful, Tori!

tfa8rva has already commented on the DoF issue in the third photo re your right eye. I cann't make any intelligent comment about the flash, although I look forward to seeing more of your flash photography experiments and learning from you.
