SP-350 Review

Megapixel.net released their review of the SP-350 today. They gave it a total score of "8." Here is the link:

I went through the www.megapixel.net review in detail, and my feeling is that the 8.0 score, not your usual 9.0+ is pretty wobbly. Unfortunately the Olympus Sp-350 is just, in my personal opinion, a re-hash of the ill fated Olympus Stylus 800.

Honestly, I would be very wary indeed!

I have been trying to decide on a camera to replace my Canon G2 which I have had for a long time. I need something light, compact, and with manual controls. The Olympus SP-350 is one of the ones I am considering. The other two are the Canon A620 and the Panasonic Lumix DMC_LX1. The Canon is a bit too bulky, and the Panasonic is expensive, and received some negatives for noise.

Any suggestions.

If you live outside of the United States, you should take a good look at the F-11 by Fuji. If you live inside the US, the Fuji F-10 is still a great little camera and it is well worth a serious look. IMHO the SP-310/350 are not the answer.

Well, I found a great deal at Dell for the S80 today. Using a Dell coupon I picked it up for a total of $443.13 with second business day shipping! When you consider that this model is selling for $549.99 elsewhere online and in stores, I am very satisfied with my purchase.
