    A620 Noise same as SD550??

Does the Canon A620 and SD550 use the same sensor. If so, can we expect the same level of noise with the A620 as was described in the SD550 review. If noise is a consideration, would A510 be a better choice?

If your talking about CA the A620 should be the better with its new lens coating for minimizing purple fringing.

IMO the smartest buy would be the A610. 5MP on a 1/1.8 CCD sensor is much better than 7MP on 1/1.8.. And its cheaper too!!!

    A620 Noise Same as SD550??

    Gentlemen:

Jeff's review of the SD550 indicates that the "noise levels are a bit higher than normal". Does the A620 have the same sensor as the SD550? Is there anything different about the A620 that might reduce the amount of noise?

Without contacting Canon tech support, there is no way to know for sure...but...they likely use the same sensor.

The A610 has less noise...it's essentially an A95 with a Digic II processor and larger LCD...at less than $300.00, it is one of the best values and has one of the highest price/quality ratios available today. Don't waste your time with the A510...its performance leaves a lot to be desired when compared to the A610...
