This is the Salinas River Railroad Bridge paralleling new highway 1, and old highway 1, between Castroville (The artichoke capitol of the world) and Marina CA (where I spent my high-school years). About 1 mile west the river empties into Monterey Bay.

    George,

I'm kind of new to the area and I was told it was called the Oakland bridge, so yeah. I don't live in Oakland though. I'm up here in Rohnert Park if you know where that is.That is all really interesting information. Since I never really knew much about it all.

Here is one of the Golden Gate Bridge I took later that night from the last photo.

I guess the official name is the Oakland-San Francisco Bay Bridge, but most just call it the Bay Bridge for short, so if you are asking how to get there just ask for the Bay Bridge. When the A's play the Giants in April its called the Bay Bridge Series.

Yeah, I had some freinds that lived up in Petaluma and then moved to Rohnert Park for a while and I used to go to Santa Rosa once in a while when my brother-in-law had a bakery in Kenwood on the other side of the mountains from you in the Sanoma Valley.

Nice area, but a heck of a commute to The City. You have my envy in the summertime.

Another hometown bridge, taken from a train bridge. This one is on a walking path around the river.
