    Ponto Vecchio

Here you can see Ponto Vecchio in Firenze. The bridge houses many jewelry stores these days, though in the old days the stores were mainly occupied by butchers. They were forced to leave because of the smell.

That is so cool, all those shops just built on the bridge. I don't think I've ever seen that before, at least in the U.S. Was it like this always?

    Ponto Vecchio

It is believed that the bridge was used for commercial purposes ever since it was constructed. Since 1593 A.D. there have been jewelry stores and goldsmiths. On this website you can find more information on the bridge.

I believe in Venice there's another bridge with stores on it, the Rialto Bridge, but I don't have any photographs of that one.

Sorry, I know it's a little large. This is the Brooklyn Bridge in New York. I was riding on a tour bus at night and was trying to capture part of the city. Very few of my night shots came out, but this one, of the cables on the bridge, looked ok even if accidental.
