More of Golden Gate Bridge, though it's taking a back seat to the sky in this one.

The sky definitely wins in that one.

TI is a great place for that shot. Absolutely beautiful. I missed all of the great sunsets we have been having recently(work). Now I have the time but the sunsets seem to be fogged out.

This one was from yesterday, but I heard it was a fog out farther south. I took the shot from the Van Ness Pier, though it's more commonly shot from TI. I was actually there for the city view which I'll post later.

I'm gonna have to say #1. #2 has just the right amount of everything to be neither graceful nor geometric nor powerful, plus the cut off shed on the right hurts my eyes.
#1 is more graceful, though I'm thinking a 3:4 or other crop excluding the top might work better. Likely neither is your best work.

I like the first one as well. However, I really like the patterns in the cables and truss work of the second. I wonder if it would work cropped to just the bridge deck and tower?

The first shot would be my pick. It just seems like a more complete scene. In the second shot (which looks like a crop of the first) part of the bridge seems to get in the way, as the outcrop of rock and building seem to be the focal point.

Thanks guys. Pretty much the opposite of my feelings, but that's why I asked. They're two photos, not a crop. One at 200mm and the next at 400mm. My main intent was to photograph the lighthouse at the base of the north tower. Perhaps that's why I like the tighter view. I do like the sweeping suspension cable in the first photo but feel as though it would benefit from a few clouds. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Wow, that is one fugly lighthouse. I had thought it was an old net house or who knows what, but now I see the light. If there was anything attractive about the lighthouse #2 might have been better, except for that building on the right would still ruin it. The clear sky is why I suggested cropping the top of #1.
