A bridge in the farmlands near my hometown. The farmlands around here are getting smaller and smaller. Just a couple of years ago this used to be grassland as far as your eyes could see...

I agree, this is no progress, though I didn't really like the grassland that much either (the landscape was a bit boring in my opinion).

Here's one I took of the Oakland bridge just the other day while driving.
It was called the Bay Bridge when I lived there. I guess if you live in Oakland it's the Oakland bridge. I spent some time at TI and Yuerba Buena Island in the Navy and Coast Guard, so I know the suspension span pretty well. I try to avoid the catelever span as it had a small problem in 1989, and the Emeryville, Alameda, Berkley side is a BFM most of the day. The picture is the suspension span (San Francisco) side, and similar in design to the Golden Gate bridge.
For those across the nation the San Francisco side of this bridge is the end of I-80 which starts around Ridgefiled Park New Jersey. I have a relative who drives the whole route once or twice a year from Washington DC.
