I've been biding my time waiting for the Fuji E900 reviews to come out, and just read the specs of the Oly SP-350. They're both pocketable cameras offering good control, with slight differences. So which way to go?

-Fuji has 1/1.6" CCD, Oly has 1/1.8" - but how good are their implementations?

-Fuji has 4x zoom, Oly has 3x.

-Fuji does not accomodate an external flash, Oly has a built-in hotshoe.

-Fuji has ISO upto 800, Oly upto 400.

-Fuji is 260 g (9.2 oz), 102 x 63 x 34 mm (4 x 2.5 x 1.3 in),
Oly is 245 g (8.6 oz), 100 x 65 x 35 mm (3.9 x 2.6 x 1.4 in).

-Fuji lists for $499, Oly lists for $399

The important determinant is how well implemented everything is, noise being especially important. (Of course the Fuji's larger sensor should produce less noise, but that's only in theory. Also, it produces 9 megapixel images vs. the Oly's 8 megapixels, so the noise levels may even be identical at 9 & 8. But the next step down after 9 & 8 megapixels, respectively, for both cameras is 5 megapixes (excluding Oly's wide-format at 7 megapixels), so comparing noise at 5 & lower is also important.

I reallly, really, really think that these two cameras (being so similar and released so close together) would best be reviewed side-by-side.

Any suggestions/opinions/insights would be appreciated.
