    Darin,

I like the graphic lines on the yard shot. Perfect placement of the train too.

    Children's Railways "Malaya Jugnaya"

More in detail about the children's railways - see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children%27s_railway and http://www.dzd-ussr.ru/english/index.html

On November, 30th travel with the grandson on Kharkiv children's railways "Malaya Jugnaya". There was an last workday of this year.
I bring to your attention the small photoreport

At first, certainly, it is necessary to investigate a train on a children's playground.

Have come into station "Park" building - earlier never there wasn't. Interesting, but plainly it was not possible to look - there were some minutes before train departure. A railway breadboard model in a station lobby.

The train has gone. We pass moving through new road. A view from the railroad car window.

We pass an overpass. From above street Derevjanko ( aviation factory).

Profits on station "Lesopark". Now it looks so. The old wooden building of station has burned down in the winter of 1999-2000

Having returned on station "Park" have gone to photograph level crossing through new road.

Have again returned on station "Park". The grandson played children's hills.

Have a little more taken a picture. A unique human operated railway switch at station "Park".

The train arrives on station "Park". It is visible that the train is conducted by the young machinist.

Coming back have walked on park "Gorkogo". Now there is its reconstruction. We prepare for euro-2012. As a whole update park not bad. Have cut down an underbrush, dry trees. Have seen a nice Panther on a sphere (to the right of the main avenue of park).

A revival of sorts. Both the thread and the image which was 2 stops overexposed (shooting manual and forgot to change settings). You gotta love NEF (RAW) and NX-2 to save blunders.

Went for a little trip down memory lane recently, via the SteamRanger, a late 1930's loco pulling some beautifully restored coaches. The loco (no. 621, Duke of Edinburgh) is the last working survivor of ten class 620 locos, all designed and built at the Islington Railway Workshops in Adelaide by the South Australian Railways. It runs on broad gauge track. And we got real, proper cardboard tickets that were hole-punched by the guard! None of your Oyster-card rubbish here!
The last pic shows where we went for lunch -- we only visit the very best places.

All pics taken with my venerable Panasonic TZ1, and s.o.o.c. apart from resizing. (The inside-carriage shot was taken whilst we were on the move, hence some blurring.)
