emalvick - that 360 is amazing!! and a lovely subject, makes
me wish I was there!!
meillana - I specially like the cloudy sundet over the water
and hills.
Before I show you my latest project - a quick explanation:
below is one of 8 portrait pics I took from the roof of my building
at work, they were done on the A-200 I used manual mode - all at
250th sec and f5.6 - it was set at 3mp and the focal length wasn't
changed - I think that was around 80 - 100mm
Here's a single shot first : -
Hopefully, you can see the Crystal Palace towers and in the distance
to the right a bit is Canary Wharf.
That pic was 2nd from the left I believe.
8 shots hen - spliced manually - and what a job!!! Non of them fitted properly.
So I resorted to splicing as best as I could and patching in segments, to make
it work - sometimes slightly resizing a fraction or rotating 1 or 2 degrees to
make it match up. There were even 2 shots that didn't quite meet - so I had
to do a bit of crafty cloning as well.
I think I am happy though with the final result - sadly most of the detail has
been lost in the re-sizing - I guess I will post it on my Multiply picture site
next where it can be viewed better.
Comments very welcome - as I have mentioned before - i will invest sometime
in a proper panorama stitching progream!!
Geoff
Wow Geoff you must have some patience to do that manually. The detail is excellent & "I can't see the join" as Eric Morecambe used to say. It would be interesting to see what the difference would be in using a stitching programme. If you want to e-mail me the images I'll put them through the Arcsoft programme & post back the result for comparison.
Around every picture there's a corner & round every corner there's a picture
- the fun's in finding them
excellent work geoff.
what i found out with arcsoft in some of my panos esp when i edit them in photoshop (tinkering with highlights and shadow levels) is that the overlaps tend to get blurred. i'll try to post a sample later.
meillana - having exchanged a few images with Geoff & tried Arcsoft on his panorama I can see what you mean. I may post a few thoughts when Geoff has had a look at my tweaks in Arcsoft - it revealed quite a few issues!

Lovely 180 deg shot there Kushnirenko, did you use a seperate program to stitch -
or the Olympus in camera stitch assist? - I expect it was a seperate one -
I don't think the OLY does many or multiple stitches ( I may be wrong)

As I already spoke earlier at Olympus shuting I used its built-in mode "Panorama".
Stitch the program Camedia Master Pro.
And though it not absolutely concerns to a digital photo I want to show it.
This panorama is taken in 1977. It will consist of 14 shots who has been taken by film camera "Lubitel-166". The size of the cadr 6x6 cenimeters.
As you can see it is received in a conic projection. It is tailored by the program a PhotoShop 9 CS. Seen borders between the shots - consequences of non-uniform development of a film and its natural ageing.
