That's beautiful Geoff. I took one from my balcony of the entire downtown "skyline" so it's super wide...I think it was 3 18mm shots stitched together and a lot of editing to make the seams disappear. All in all, I'm happy with it but it doesn't have the clarity of your panorama.
Brilliant guys - thanks for responding so quickly!
I really haven't got much else just now on this - but please keep yours all
coming in - and I am fascinated about the splicing together - I have
only tried it briefly and found it hard work!
I know my Oly is supposed to do it for me - but I haven't tried.
The La Rochel shot was a bigger picture cropped top and bottom.
I did one of kids in a school concert - joined up two together and had to
fiddle quite a bit as some had moved a bit - it worked out but took ages!
I'm sure this will be a start to another great thread. I found it fun to do and now have more creative ideas
Geoff, the program "photostitch" that came with my XT does a pretty good job stitching images together with little effort. I'm not sure if there is one available for your camera.
I found this tutorial about "stitching" awhile back and referred to it when trying my first big panorama (above). Maybe it'll be helpful to some of you:
Here's a GC one stitched with the Arcsoft programme that came with the panny. I must admit it is really easy to use & seems to work pretty well although this shot didn't seem to work as well as the one I posted on the landscape thread somehow. Anyway great thread well done Geoff don't know why we didn't think of it before.
Around every picture there's a corner & round every corner there's a picture
- the fun's in finding them
Great shots coming in everyone - & and thanks for the tips.
Here's one I have just knocked up from 2 pics Using Serif Photo plus 8
from last years Malvern Hills trip - just a landscape view from the Malvern Hills
bit tricky joining as they didn't splice quite right throughout and
I had to do a touch of cloning inalong with selected curves adjustments.
Now I have done another one I think I will remember when I take pics
to bear the possibility in mind - one tip is to take all the pics to be joined
on the same exposure and focul length
- that would have helped with this one!
White Deer Creek in PA with a small suspended bridge. This is where I used to camp and go fishing.I'm standing in the middle of it and if it were normal I'd be swept away.Very dry this summer.I just used photostitch for it.
