thnks for the tips prospero. as i was catching up on all the pages in this thread i came across a bunch of ur italy panorams. i was just there 2 weeks ago visiting the lady who is studying abroad in florence for the semester. lots of familiar sites.
The pic of the piazza by St. Peter's is really long. had to shrink it down for this. got like 2 days with zero color in the sky. sucky. still pretty though. these are my first few panorams.

Very nice panoramas, Bestdog. I especially like the second one. It has some beautiful colours and a nice composition. There's quite some distortion on the sides, but in my opinion this only makes the picture more powerful. Well done, keep it up.

Beautiful panoramas, Justlearning. It's good to see some pictures of that beautiful city again. The St. Peter Panorama is awsome. It is all the way around, I guess? It's a pity that the skies were so dull, but regardless of that the panoramas still look great.

These were leftover cloudiness from that day. cant be sunny everyday - the panorama is 360. i am looking into making it QTVR. those things are cool!

I would love to see the other version. I myself have tried fixing blown-out highlights in the sky sometimes, but somehow I never could get it to look convincing enough.
For making a QTVR you could try Arcsoft Panoramamaker 3. With that you can make a QTVR in just a few clicks .

Here's one I stitched together of Croydon at night - maybe
not the most inspiring view...but I was pleased with the way it came out...
I decided NOT to doctor the pic (colour the sky or any of that sort of thing)
this is just a reduced copy of my 3x 8mp pix
this is my first attempt at a panoramic stitch. the shot was taken back in summer 2005, June if my memory serves me well, in Scotland. This is the Forth Road Bridge which spans the River forth opposite the famous Rail Bridge. i learned some valuable leasons when i tried to stitch this together. More is definately good. Then i would have got more of the reflection in and could have cropped better. Also, lock the exposure.......

I'll work on reducing the distortion on sides. Besides widening the scope of what is photographed, then cropping, any tips?
With the first pano I realised after stitching it together that I should have taken the images as portrait and included more of the foreground: that striking mustard roof.
