IST DS Brighness

Hi,

I have recently purchase the ist and am reasonably happy with it. I seem to be underexposing lots of shots and this is concerning I have tried locking exposure with focusing and the different metering options which do not seem to have much effect. Pictures are landscapes mainly in bright sunlight.

Any ideas?

That doesn't look underexposed at all to me.
If it exposes it anymore, the highlights would get blown out.

If you want that, you can use spot metering, and point to a shade and use the AE Lock.

Otherwise the shadow/highlight tool in photoshop is a great remedy for these tricky lighting areas.

It looks like it is Under exposed whil viewing wit Microsoft Office Picture Manager but seems to print OK Quite strange.

Heh yeah printers reveal a lot more of the darker tones. This is because it uses much warmer colors(6500K).
Usually people set their monitor to that color temperature if they're doing print. If your monitor has sRGB, that's even more accurate.
