    Possible D200 Sensor????

Let's see, Sony just announced a camera with an APS-C CMOS Sensor of 10.3 megapixels. The D200 has not been announced yet, and Nikon gets most, if not all of their sensors from Sony. Just sorta wonderin.

    Cheers,
    Eric

I don't think so, as the D200 was (unofficially???) announced with the 12.4MP APS-C sensor. While the 10.4MP CMOS sensor Sony has announced in the R1 is close, it is actually a Sub APS-C size with a 1.68X crop factor. This doesn't really fit into the low-end professional strategy. But stranger things have happened.

However, for the D80(?)... How about a 10MP@3fps 1.7 crop plus 5MP @ 5fps 3X(!) crop? Could make the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 a killer 30-150 f2.8 lens. Packaged in an updated, D70, like case and priced at $1499 it might have a serious impact.

    I love speculation.

    Ha! See, I can change...
