Looking for a good camera for Close Up's

I have been looking for a good camera for close ups. Something to
take auction pictures as well as flower pictures. Something that is
diverse but yet small. The best close up pictures I have seen is by
the Nikon 995. Is there an alternative to this camera. The 995 seems
very expensive on ebay and other sites. Especially for a used camera.

Not to burst your bubble, but the 995 is a 4 year old camera from 2001. It cost $1000 when it originally came out, but it's hardly worth anything now (despite how good it was). What sites are you looking at the suggest that it's still expensive? If you want to take shots for auction sites, you should just look at entry models (Below $200) like the Canon A410 ($150), Olympus D-435 ($150), Canon A510 ($175), and Nikon Coolpix 4600 ($175).

Of the four mentioned, the Olympus has the least features (no zoom at all). The other 3 should more than fulfill your needs. $150 is about the minimum you have to spend for a bare-bones camera, otherwise you're just better off using a camera-phone IMO.
