    Back-up battery for D70

For those D70 owners looking for a second Nikon EN-EL3 Lithium-Ion Battery (7.4v 1400mAh) as a back-up for the original that came with the camera, the Nikon EN-EL3a that ships with the D50 and D70s, also fits our D70. It's capacity has been stepped up to 7.4v 1500mAh, and it costs about $7 more than the original. But it would make a great prime battery, with the OEM as a back-up. Nikon is selling a new charger to match up with the 3a. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I see no reason not to continue using the OEM charger for both. It will just take a little longer to charge up the 3a.

In Canada, at least, the D50 comes with the original ENEL3, not the 3a.

The standard charger will charge the a, you are right
