Move up to F828?

I have a DCS F717 and love it. Only I'd like a faster lens. Based on the specs I've read, the F828 is not faster, i.e. 2.0-2.8 vs 2.0-2.4 in the F717. The many enhancements on the F828 don't seem to help with low light situations. Right? (And I know there is NightShot which is cool but I want color)

If you aren't in a huge hurry, I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see Sony announce something new in September/October to replace the F828. That's what my sources (and these aren't your run-of-the-mill DPReview sources) are indicating.

Thanks for the reply, which I assume means I was right about the lens on the 828 not being any faster than my 717. And, yeah, I was thinking this fall would be on the same schedule as the 707/717/828 sequence.

It would be nice if both F828 and Pro1 replacements be announced in September/October.

But does Canon make announcements in September? I thought its pretty much all in August and as per Jeff, no Pro1 replacement announcment will be made in August.

Canon announces the bulk of the new cameras this month, but they also announce 1-2 in September/October. I do not know what they will announce at those times though.
