While looking for FZ5, found Dimage Z2 at Sam's at great price

I was looking for the Panasonic FZ5 today and found a Dimage Z2 with 128MB SD card & a bonus Close up photography to 1.2" for $245.00. I have no idea what the close up bonus is, but I loved the look and feel of the camera. I know it is only 4mp and the FZ5 is 5, but none of the stores in our area carry Panasonic cameras. Also it seems like reviews rate the Diamage a little higher.
I would love opinions as to which camera to choose. The price of the Dimage is excellent and I could buy it locally which is a plus, but of course picture quality comes first.

I don't know what reviews you've been looking at, but you'll probably regret the decision. That isn't to say that the Z2 is a bad camera. It just doesn't stand up to what's offered today.

Thanks, I appreciate your advice. What do you think of a better Dimage [say the Z5] compared to the FZ5?

    K-m Z-5

The Z-5 is a nice, but limited digital camera. It is certainly no match at all when compared to the Canon S-2, the Panasonic FZ-5, or the Sony H-1. You be happier in the long run with a different digital camera.

If the salesperson told you that he/she lied. Dimage Z5 never enjoys the same popularity as the FZ5 and the FZ5 is a newer camera.

Thanks to all, I am certainly convinced. I was just hoping to be able to buy one I could hold. I am about 2 hours from St. Louis. Does anyone know anywhere I could buy the Panasonic or Sony there?

Do you have any of these stores....

    Walmart sells the Sony H1
Circuit City and Best Buy should sell both of them
