    A75, A85, A80, A95

    Okay, I'm new. First-digital-camera-guy.

I understand that the new A95 is the successor to the A80.

I also understand that the new A85 is the successor to the A75/A70.

So, my question is this: Between the new A95 and the new A85, what are the main differences? What should I know about the two?

Sub-question: I am deciding between one of these two cannon cameras and the Nikon Coolpix 4100/4200 (will have to ask the Nikon Forum on that one). Any thoughts?

    Thanks

The A95 adds a flip-out screen and 1 megapixel bigger CCD. That's really all the difference I see.

The A95 has a nicer, larger CCD -- 1/1.8" versus 1/2.7" which will translate into things like overall better image quality, the ability to get a shallower depth of field, and so on. That and the A95 might take photos a bit faster.
