Casio Exilim EX-S100 vs. Canon PowerShot SD200 Digital ELPH

    Budget

    * What budget have you allocated for buying this camera?

    $200-250

    Size

    * What size camera are you looking for?

    Ultracompact. Size matters.

    Features

How many megapixels will suffice for you?

3-4 megapixels should be a good price balance.

    * What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x, Other – Specify)

    Standard will be fine.

    * How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10)

    8

Do you care for manual controls?

I'd like a few, but since I wouldn't use them most of the time they're not important.

    General Usage

    * What will you generally use the camera for?

    Casual indoor/outdoor.

    * Will you be making big prints of your photos or not?

    Probably not.

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos?

Both indoor and low light frequently.

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos?

Not necessarily, but I'd like to be able to

    Miscellaneous

Are there particular models you already have in mind?

I'm currently looking at both the Canon PowerShot SD200 and the Casio EX-S100. Both are about the same price: 225 USD, and both seem to fit the above questions. I'm looking for a small stylish camera that I can carry anywhere in my pocket. I enjoy the simple, small square body of these, and they seem to fit the bill. Most usage will be on my computer or 5x7 prints.

So here's my question, which of these two models is more appropriate? If you have any recommendations of comparable models, that would be nice as well.

Also, the Powershot SD200 has an AF assist lamp. I'm going to be in a lot of low light situations where this might help...how much of a benefit would this be over the EX-S100?

Another thing, both of these have about the same features/current price, but the MSRP is $399 for the EX-S100 while the SD200 is $300. Why is there a difference in MSRP, but not in Pricegrabber?
