Exclamation Canon Digital Rebel XT and macro lens to suit??

    Hi there all
Quick question from one who knows a little but not enough about photography to answer this question myself. Having dedided to buy the above camera it now transpires that if i want to do any great macro shots i will need to buy a suitable lens to do the job. Now i know there are a multitude of different scenarios for macro photgraphy but in my case i can give an instance or thereabout of what i need to do. I am a flyfisherman-graphic designer and often times i will need to take close up shots of say either fishing flies or the real thing from say maybe a foot away or so maybe more. Can anyone advise me on a good macro lens that should cover me in the above instances - in a nutshell i want to take shots of small things and get great detail close ups of the subject matter as many times the flies etc will be blown up and used on say the cover of a magazine or brochure. I know very very little about what the various lenses(ie. their difference between the various one) can do which is why i need your help-advice. many thanks- declan
Ps. My budget in us dollars would be about 350 (euros 300 or so)

One of the best Canons is their: Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM but most likely it'll run around $425 US. They have a new Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM but its a totally digital lens so if upgrading in the future to a full frame camera it wouldn't work. Back to your budget though the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX Macro can be had for around $350 US and gets very good reviews.
