Geoff Chandler - I dd not notice any color swings, they all seem to be close on color, at least to my untrained eye! Haven't really compared exposure....

Picked up a new D5100 to replace the aging D40... Love it!

Here is another from the same trip....

DPR - This one gave me fits on the straightening as it is built into a hill with opposing inclines on each side. Trees are leaning and the curved drives made it even more challenging! I touched it up...

The D5100 would be a fine choice, but from the sounds of his current photography needs, lenses would be a better choice. I found that getting better lenses for my D40 in the beginning was the best...

jmhv - Listen to K1W1 and take your money and buy a good lens or two. I cheap great lens is the 35mm f/1.8 and then look at possibly the 16-85mm or getting a 70-300mm zoom. When it is time to...
