So I had some free time tonight.... I decided to Compare my G11 to 40D with a 17-55mm Lens.

The results were not quite what I expected... on a side note, the white balance on the G11 seems to be...

I noticed something similar today with my G11 and a sold purple color. Just Shot raw and set the color tone to 4, it turns purple...

I read all the reviews multiple times, my eyes were bleeding.. anyway. I chose the G11 due to it's slightly sharper image quality when viewed at 100% due to the better lens, and the better battery...

I'm having a issue with windows 7 and the color management. It looks very different from my windows xp setup with the exact same monitor settings. Does anyone have any info on this?

My advice to you is to try out both the xsi and 40D... the xsi feels bigger than the nikon D40... that's for sure.. With the price pretty close between the 40D and xsi.. the 40D may suit you better...
