Thanks for the thoughts. It seems to take pretty good shots right out of the box and the macro definetely makes a difference.

Is it possible to get a UV filter that will protect the lens that does NOT have to be attached to the hood??? A 58mm uv filter that attaches to the hood makes the camera too big for me.
