Well I'm finally the proud owner of a brand new A390. Managed to pick it up for £299.99 (cheaper than the A290 in most shops!). Just a lot of work now to get used to the camera and look into lenses...

AF - autofocus? Have only done my research into cameras so far - not the lenses!

Read quite a few reviews now. Seems that the best "entry" DSLR at the moment is the D3100. As it's a bit outside my budget I've opted to go for the slightly-less-dazzling-but-still-praised A290 (my...

Is it worth buying a 4 year old camera though? How much difference would I see in the quality compared to a brand new one?

Have been looking at that one, but it's already 215 posted. For an extra £30 I can get a refurbished one with warranty etc.

The choice is all down to budget unfortunately (I've got a thread in the 'What camera should I choose' category). I'm a student, and bought a Fuji bridge camera a few months ago. It does take good...

So after a lot of searching on this site, I've realised that no one rates the kit lens that comes with the A200, and that the one on the A230 is a bit better. What I'd like to know is is it worth it...

It comes with the standard 18-70mm lens, which I've read is rubbish so have got my eye on a few tamron's.
It's the newest camera I've found so far within my price range, but will keep an eye for...

I've been quite interested in photography for a while, and a few months ago bought a Fuji S2500HD bridge camera. It's a good camera and I've enjoyed using it, but am already quite frustrated by the...
