Adam,
Sorry if this has been mentioned earlier or in a previous thread...but were you considering the 50mm f/1.2L when you bought this? Or, was it just between the Canon and Sigma 50mm f/1.4?

I like the processing and angle on #8. The rain is a cool added effect!
That E30 looks a lot better than the one I have. :)

Nice start! Now, work on slightly different ratios so the images have a little more "depth". The lighting is a tad flat. Also, at those settings, I'm going to guess the window light didn't have...

Looks like a nice lens Adam. Why did you decide on this over the Canon 50mm?
Shhh...some Nikon lurkers might start bragging all their caps are like that. ;)

If you like shooting in available light, the higher ISO would be a big plus for the T1i.

Yeah definitely charge more Nick. I got $500 for being a second shooter. The main photographer is a friend of mine, and I encouraged him to not discount heavily. IMO, word of mouth will get him...

Thanks for the comment.
Ditto on the B&W. I still prefer using the channel mixer in Photoshop. I have a good list of some "film recipies". :)

Thanks Adam for the comments! I tried the bounce card a few times, and yes it worked well. In #4, I tried to bounce the light low enough behind me, but I think the wall was just too far back, and...

A friend wants to start shooting weddings, and asked me to help out. It was pretty tough, small room, horrible light, 2 of the 4 walls were windows. But, it did have a nice, not too high ceiling to...

Looks like it should fit the bill!
I just bought a 28mm f/1.8 which should arrive Monday. I'm interested to try this lens out. I was considering the 35mm f/2, but wanted the USM focusing. We'll...

Great work Adam! I've never been scared of high ISO. Even with my XTi, a "properly lit/exposed" high ISO shot comes out just fine. :)

Just go into the menu, and use the "reset" option. This will put back all settings to factory set.
If it still happens, your shutter is bad, and is staying open too long.

I love the 50mm f/1.4 wide open. It gives great isolation to a specific part of the photo while maintaining the "feel" of the rest. I always felt it really shines with people...even at high ISO.

Also currently "Out of Stock".
Hmm...I don't recall price increases with the last round of rebates, but then again I wasn't looking too closely. I wonder if these will be permanent increases, or...

It looks like just this week (or close to), B&H raised their price on the 50mm f/1.4 from $325 to $399. Plus, almost everyone is out of stock. Is there a change to it?
Luckily, I already have...

A lot of the look in that link comes from the post processing. As for actual in-camera....when on-location, if urban, I like to maybe underexpose the "scene" a stop or a stop and a half (unless...

That's the first time I've ever heard that, and have never experienced it with my XTi. Definitely post an image, and let us know the info on how you shot it.

Great shots! They're having a bit of trouble keeping the dresses on. :)
-
Whereever they were posted, my work blocked them. Now that I can see these at home....I love 'em!

He wants you to "snaps hot"...you underbid.

I believe this is all natural light...I haven't gotten through all the behind the scenes info yet.
This video is wonderful

I'd have to disagree. As an XTi user, I'm in manual mode 95% of the time. Otherwise it's Av, or Tv. I find changing shutter speed, aperture, focus points are very quick and easy, while keeping...

Yeah, next on my list is a grid for the BD. I've seen some wonderful shots with that combination of modifiers.

I've always loved the 85mm f/1.8 for candid shots in available light. I setup a "head shot" station at a Chicago Strobist meet. This was an Alien Bees AB800, with a beauty dish. Below model was a...

It's often a case of sand/dirt jamming up a gear.
