When I first got into photography, I always loved dark, rich shots. Back to the roots.
-
Looks good. I'm always drawn to black and white images.
-
That's incredible. I'm always amazed at the shadow detail you can pull out of the underexposed areas as well.
-
Simple shot but I like it.

Thank you for the kind words. The entire time I've been into photography, I've always used natural lighting. I decided I wanted to try to embrace using flash instead of avoiding it like the plague....
-
Messing with lighting.

I like this look for this particular image. It reminds me of the art you would see in the old, original Heavy Metal magazine. I think it needs some rotating to make the center building verticle...

That's one with a "kind" price. This is the one that will make you go "Huh"?

Thanks! I didn't even notice the sharpness. I haven't touched the camera in months and sort of got re-inspired around Christmas time. I've been reading the owners manual again because I don't...

I haven't been here in ages. Lots of great inspiration going through the many posts. I'll have to see if I can stop by more often!

So the result of the OP issue was the release button failing? I wonder how exactly.

It's been a long time since I've posted anything.
Nice shots everyone.

This is where I'll put my money.

This is what I have. Hooray to no proprietary shackles!

If I hadn't put it in manual, the trees in the background would have been in focus.

Nice shots everyone.
It's been a while since I've visited. Here's a manual focus shot from this morning. Not too crisp if it's much larger, I have to work on my focusing skills. It looked good...

In the past, zooms in general did not have the quality they do now compared to primes. When I made my purchase I was on a budget. I opted for the D80 body only and a Sigma 18-50 f2.8 over the kit...

The first two shots posted look like big hunks of salmon... only blue.
-
Focus is covered on pages 29-31 of the manual.
I believe this is what you are looking for.

Hey tori, when I got my new National Geographic I saw this image. It immediately reminded me of this shot you took. I thought you may get a little inspiration as it seems to combine elements I've...
