Tokina 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 (Fisheye) DID NOT SHIP IN SEPTEMBER AS PREDICTED
This is not good news for N. America and Europe.
-
How do you know the exact months their shipping? just curious.
EDIT: wow bad timing huh?

I just updated my Picasa software (free photo view/editing/organization software from Google) and I see it wants updated...so I'm hey OK cool. THen I restart the program and all my RAW photos are...

I own the Sigma 18-200 and I'm very happy w/ it (I'm new to photography though, so I don't exactly have standards I guess).
I know w/ the 18-125 there is vignetting that occurs, and it obviously...
-
I put UV filters on both my lenses, I find it MUCH easier to clean dirt and dust off of a filter rather than the lenses.
I'd also like to say that B&W (the brand) will probably be teh highest...

Yeah from the few pics I've taken so far (90?) I've done some low light pictures w/ focusing w/out flash help...and they look great. Very happy w/ how far they zoom, and I'm glad I chose them over...
-
Wow what a thread...and no...Sensors arn't everything...in many situations the Lenses are THE most important part of a camera. Reason is they do the work, whereas the body just controls the light.
-
DId ya set it to RAW mode? or Large JPG?
-
Well, I compared features and what each camera has directly (thanks to dpreview.com...awesome site)...I looked at both of their in-depth reviews as well as side by sideing them....
I chose the...

Lower ISO will produce less "noise" (noise makes the photo look kinda grainy), but it also means you must have the shudder open longer so more light gets it, because you need more light for LOWER...

Hmm...I'm thinking these 18-200 Sigmas will be worth it compared to the 18-125, I mean it will save me money of buying RAW vignetting correction capable software (like Nikon Capture...$100!)

I'm looking for a shoulder bag for my soon to be owned camera and lenses and stuff. I'm looking for one that is cheap, but decent.
It will be holding:
-Nikon d50
-Sigma 18-125mm
-Nikon 50mm...

Thx very much for the info eric, that helped alot!
-
Which of the following setups would be good for me? I'm looking at this to be my first big venture into photography, and pretty mcuh get into amateur photography. I will be photographing mostly...
-
LOL well then that seems like DEFINATELY a good reason, cause that amounts to... $377.57 USD...wow thats alot.
-
I have The GIMP 2.2 also, haven't used it yet except for avatar resizing on another forum I belong to. Anyway, I don't know anything about image editing cept REALLY basic stuff, but I most likely...

Well after a little reading through a randomish thread here at the forum, it appears the AF-D's are pro glass, and the AF-G's are Consumer glass.
-
All good points, but still, 899 is the d70's MSRP, and I've found it at a few places for OVER 100 buck LESS THAN MSRP....
-
What exactly do the G and D in AF-G and AF-D for Nikon cameras stand for? Are these definitions for Nikon's alone? Which is better?
Just trying to understand stuff, thx.
-
Sources are threads right here in this sub area of the forum, I see alot of d50 threads, and no d70s threads.
And BTW, I'm obviously in the USA, didn't know Europe had higher prices, thanks for...
-
Nice thoughts, I myself am about to buy the d70s very soon, but it's still keeping me guessing why people want this d50, it's a downgraded version of the d70s, but it can be found for DEAD similar...
-
Seems like alot of people are talking more about the d50 than the d70s, why?
IIRC, the d50 is just a d70s, but a "lite" d70s. And I KNOW the d70s can be had the the same price as the d50, from...
-
Thank you very much for the explanation George, no more disappointment in you now from me. Ur explanation of why u don't like polls makes alot of sense.
-
Yeah, perhaps a moving camera that records in MPEG form, or at least one easily convertable to that? Dunno much about video cameras, but yeah just an idea.
-
Umm...wtf?
First off, I refuse to be a photographer who shuns other companies, thats just ridiculous, very childish.
Second, I wasn't even asking for a company preferance, I was asking for...
