Depends what I want the photo to show. If the lens cannot get you there...sometimes you just have to crop.
Messing around with the beast today using my 70-300 IS . All images at ISO3200 and Noise Reduction (via Plugin) within CS6.

You'll enjoy the new lens....some have even referred to it as "Canon's hidden L Lens". You get good DOF control and nice sharp photos, without the expense of an L lens. Have attached a link below...
