Maybe he was speaking from a technical safety aspect.. such as no leather pants, open face shield with no eye protection, no gloves, part of the seat is missing. A busa is certainly capable of...

Doesn't the onboard flash also judge how much power it should use for each given shot, just like the external speedlights? So if you're trying to focus on something far away, it will use more power...

I'll speak up becase I asked the same thing when I got mine, lol...
You can't manually adjust the aperture. You have to lock it at the smallest setting on the lens itself, which is f/22. Then you...

Thats a forged CP piston that was melted due to a wastegate failure on a turbo car. The WG failed the the T61 turbo spiked to 40psi on a fuel system intended for 15psi.. that was the end result.

I second the vote for the 50mm 1.8 lens. It will allow to you get almost any DOF that you want. Click the link below for a sample of the aperture set to 1.8 with that lens.

Thank you very much. The tripod mount under the cable is the information I was missing.

Those pics are about 100x nicer than what my current zoom lens can do. I'm actually impressed because I know the lighting at the tracks really isn't that good (also a big NASCAR fan here). I may just...

That cable is hot shoe to hot shoe, and that would work if I was able to mount the flash to a bracket without using a hot shoe mount. Like lets say I buy this bracket and the optional hot shoe mount...

I can't see those Nascar images you posted. Have any links to them?

Also, any thoughts on this lens compared to the Nikon equiv?

So it doesn't sound like there is a good all around lens available, not even for double the price of my camera body. That's kind of a disappointment. I guess I'll give the 80-200 a good...
-
Well night shooting is not the only thing I do. I'd like to be able to use 1 lens 90+% of the time if possible. That's why I didn't think the 80-200 would be the best all around choice. (I did read...

I shoot a pretty wide variety of subjects ranging some simple portraits to high speed drag racing (sometimes at night). Right now I have the lenses listed in my signature, but obviously none are...
-
I plan on buying a flash bracket here soon. I assume the best way to mount the sb-800 is to use a hot shoe mount. That would mean I can't use a SC-29 TTL cable. What should I be using for that type...
-
Well it doesn't seem very logical to say that the 600 has a quicker recycle time then because they aren't being compared at equal GN levels.
-
I could be wrong, but doesn't the 600 recycle faster because it's less powerful? The only times I had to wait for the 800 to recycle while shooting an outdoor event this weekend was with the 300mm...

Well I went ahead and ordered the SB-800 and it arrived today. Definitely even more to learn now, haha! Here is a sample shot using the flash, of my son. I think it looks pretty natural.

This weekend I shot my first night car show, which included taking photos of both cars and people (models). I'd say the built in D50 flash did pretty okay, but I still got a lot of red eye and some...

Honestly the only problems I ever had my with 850 was that it was slow to autofocus in low light situations. Otherwise it perfromed great and gave better than average photos. I just upgraded to a D50...

These are 2 of my cats Madison and Figaro. Taken with my old P850.

I have the lenses listed in my signature below. The 70-300 came with a hood but neither of the 52mm threaded lenses do. What do you guys recommend for those 2 lenses? I haven't been able to find much...
-
That is the reason I went with the D50. It may have less features, but it has the ones that I do need/want. It's the industry standard DSLR in my opinion and is a great camera for the money. I...

My new 50mm 1.8 is also hard to mount to my new D50. It's gotten a little bit easier as I've taken it off and on about 4 times now.
-
First attempt with the 50mm 1.8 lens. Next time I'll probably open it to 2.0 or 2.2 and try to get the other eye better in focus.

Hehe.. I just found that information on another site a few minutes ago too. I guess I should have researched some more before buying it. If I shoot on aperture priority then the command dial does the...
