I would keep it. I have one but has been sitting in my bag not being used because I just acquired my 80-200 so I had plans to sell the 55-200 but thinking it over, I just decided not to. The reason...

Not to sound harsh or anything but the key is to wait. I've been waiting for the perfect time to acquire my 80-200 2.8 and what do I get? An 80-200 AFS for $700 on craigslist. At some point...
-
Nice acquisition...it indeed is very solid and it also takes sharp pics. Still have to use mine more often and getting used to. Enjoy your new lens :)

Thanks Prospero! As for the pics, I still haven't taken any :( I'm not going to use it for sports but would like to use it as a portrait telephoto lens.
-
Thanks TDI, I haven't really used it yet but this thing is heavy, I mean HEAVY w/the D200. But it just looks handsome with the hood on and it's worth the weight!
By the way, what did you...
-
Congratulations Rooz! But how did it start? Did you show them your work? Anyways, cool stuff! :D

I'm a newbie but I've researched this lens lately. There is also another competitor that I was thinking of being my next lens and that is the nikkor 85mm 1.4. I've heard that the 105 dc is really...

I thought about becoming a PRO as well, applying to a photography school and taking up portrait photography specifically. But as time progressed, I realized that photography for me is not a priority...
-
Haha thanks KIWI! Although I would love a 70-200 VR down the road. Until then....

@polumum
Craigslist is a buy/sell/trade website and has job postings as well. I think it's only available here in the US. If you're here, just click on the area you're staying. Checkout...

@KIWI
Haha I don't even know what the exchange rate is in AUS but I'll pass! Yeah when I saw the asking price, I had to jump on it right away.
-
Thanks for the love you guys! I will definitely post up some pics when I do get the time. If anyone has this lens, can you also give me some advice on how to use it properly on my D200. All help...

Hi guys, finally got one of my dream lenses off craigslist. I just wanted to show it off to you guys :D but I'm just an amateur. I got it for $700 which I think is a steal from a pro who switched...

I agree. That water drop is just crystal clear. Nice capture.

Thanks Rooz. As for the lightsource, it came from the Cliff House and also street lights had their share too. The rocks called SEAL ROCK are indeed white because of bird droppings from Sea Gulls. ...

Here is one of the photos I took during a night field trip for my photography class. We did this field trip to learn about long shutter. This one I post processed a little bit because it was kind...

Nice shot Bob! Especially w/ the surf board like it's a day's end for a surfer after a long day of surfing.
-
aparmley: What siggy did you get?
-
Thanks mugs. I totally agree w/ you. I prefer to touch and hold something before I buy it, well most of the time. And I know for sure that what I'm getting is real.

Saw this on yahoo today.

Rawpaw, actually I take that back. The teacher actually mentioned something about 1.6x and 1.5x that coldrain talked about. He had a canon and he said it's 1.6 for those cameras and 1.5 for nikons....
-
rawpaw, I don't know the meaning of crop factor but based on what you suggested, does that mean I need a faster shutter speed for a pic so that when I'm cropping, it won't affect the quality of that...

Thanks TNB. That thing is hi-tech w/ old school style! One of these days....
