same problem with my year-old 710, one red pixel. I sent the camera in for repairs and they changed the sensor and mainboard. Got it back, was happy for a month or two (was viewing photos on a lowres...

are you sure it's not just your crt-screen or tv? of course if you use a micked up amp instead of direct line in you'll obviously get ambient noise. anyway try using the same electrical socket for...

oh and, the video sounds much better on a computer than on the camera, less noise.

the IS saves a lot of photos. with IS I'd say 90% of all shots are decent or better. without, you get maybe 40%. this is only a personal estimate but seriously the IS is valuable.

actually, when I first got my 710 I was really worried/pissed when I heard the extremly noisy playback (especially since I didn't hear it in the clip on this site). thought I'd gotten a bad camera....

Norton line of product = horrible
Symantec corporate = good

bought the exact same card a week ago (or something like that), works perfectly with my 4 year old HP AIO-printer's SD card bay. Initially thought it might be a SDHC card since some sites said SD...

as a first time digital camera owner, I just bought the 710 for the same reason (backpacking). Still gonna bring my old 35mm systems though.
as for night shots, I've found that the auto on the...

Just got the A710 popped in the standard batteries and think I got a 3-4 sec wait. Didn't seem too long though compared to my 35mm compacts, of course I'll probably start to get annoyed with that...

ahh...I was just wondering about the same thing. Just got a Canon A710IS and don't really want to yank out the SD-card every two seconds to check the images (via a card reader). I'm always very...
