Ditto. The Z612 is the better camera among these choices.
Don't be fooled by extra megapixels though.

It's a common feature of most Kodak cameras to have relatively small picture sizes with heavy compression. The same goes with their movie mode. Some of the higher Kodak models offer settings for JPEG...

V570 owner here. Listen to the poster ahead of me. If picture quality is that much of a must to you, the V570 and the V610 are not for you. In fact, you stated no reason as to why you are interested...
-
The Canon PowerShot A710 IS is probably the better camera.
-
Like the man above asked, do you have a tripod?
If not, try to have a firmer, more stable grip on the camera (leaning against something, using the viewfinder, putting your elbows on a flat...

Why not go direct to the source?

You obviously need some video editor that can deal with quicktime files and there aren't that many out there. Truth of the matter, I have no experience editing Quicktime files. I despise Quicktime....
-
I know you can re-upload the photos and movies back into your camera.
As for custom movies, I think they would have to be with the exact same video codec as the camera uses, otherwise it has no...
-
I'm not sure but there seems to be a problem with the imaging sensor if this appears on both the LCD and viewfinder.
-
The C340 is a 5 MP camera, with Kodak's image compression means pictures are from 800K to 1,4 MB, depending on how much details your photos have (things like fabric, leaves on trees, fur usually make...
-
You can still use the LCD screen, right?
Why don't you take a few pictures (dump them in the computer) and see how they turn out?
IMHO, the C340 is among the cheapest cameras in the Kodak line...

Successor of the P880 is expected shortly, it just hasn't been announced yet. But the slashing of the price for the P880 matches an expected model upgrade. I think you can get the camera for half of...
-
For God's sake, a review nitpicking at features and a camera not able to focus and take pictures in broad daylight are two different things. If the P850 was such a slouch, users would return it to...
-
I've never tried it, but...
If you're really lazy, you could just set the camera to FIREWORKS in the scene mode and take a bunch of pictures until you hit the bull's eye.
If you want to be a...

You're going to have to tell us why you'va narrowed it down to those 3. I like Kodak cameras myself, but I don't know how the Z650 is similar to the other two cameras. The Z650 is not even the best...

Not planning to buy any new camera, but I can use the last one I bought as reference.
- What will you be taking pictures of? In what kind of lighting?
Buildings, landscapes and panos.
Mostly...

Well, I'm not sure. I would go for a straight long zoom as my current ultra compact covers my wide angle lens and portability (it's the Kodak V570). I am personally not too impressed with the P850 as...
-
Hey, I still have my DX6490 and I love it too. I'm not upgrading that camera until it breaks though (damn thing is too reliable :) ). I do have a backup ultracompact though.
Anyway, with a budget...
-
The P880 is close to what you want, but it is not compact and it does not have image stabilization. Kodak has been presenting a new wave of cameras lately and the successor of the P880 will be shown...
-
Cool. I've never seen the V603, but I assume it's pretty much like the V550.
Remember to make some red-eye tests. :) If the camera is like the V610, it's supposed to be a combination of...

V570 owner here.
I think it is best to sum up the V570's image quality as average for an ultra compact. The colors are accurate (and perhaps too saturated for purists) but the images can be soft....
-
The noises you hear are most likely the focusing/zoom mechanism. A few cameras that allow zooming while filming are designed in such a way so that you can not hear the mechanism, but the V610 is not...
-
You're right. For some reason, I saw it as an Euro. Still, he can't afford a true DSLR and he is still limited by his compact requirement so that eliminates the vast majority of the long zoom cameras...
-
That basically narrows the possibilities to an average compact or ultra compact with normal zoom capabilities. Forget a true DSLR at that price range and your need for something compact.
If zoom...
