    Yes!!!

    I've had a bit of a play with it.

    I managed to shoot cars going round a Scalextric track on Friday night on Shutter Priority mode.

    Still trying to find my way around it and read the book but...

    Sorry...

    Don't quite understand the question. I don't have my G6 yet. It was supposed to arrive today but the Blizzard has delayed it. I can show you pics from a similar situation I took with my...

    I'm not sure what my original feelings were on what's number one in the world! I've had Fujis the last two times and been VERY pleased with them. This camera I was looking first and foremost for FAST...

    I just did a little snooping and the S45 has basically the same features at the A80 in the sleeker body. The S40 doesn't have as good chip.

    I'm still a real newbie myself so it'd be best to get...

    The Li-Ion vs AA tends to be a personal preference.

    Some people say it's best to have AAs (which you can use NiMH) since if they run out you can just buy some new ones to keep you going.

    The...

    Are you an Aussie? You keep saying mate! LOL.

    Think about when you might want to shoot a detail up a tall tower - or something in the distance from a view. Or people doing something that if you...

    Mega pixels...
    I've learnt they're generally to do with print-out size. How big will you want to print your pictures? Will you want to crop bits out of them? I believe a 3MP can do a passable 8x10...

    :) I'll be right at the front so not needing huge zoom. I read some real life accounts of disappointing performance in this situation of the FZ20. I also couldn't find one to see in the UK and my...

    Getting a G6 - advice needed

    So,

    I have decided to get an Canon G6 and just had a message from 'Santa' that it's been ordered!

    I have a couple of questions - if you'd be so kind!

    (1) It's coming from the US so I need to...

    LOL I wish(!)

    It's for the fan club magazine we'll be producing for the band that my photos above were of. We'll be editing it so won't be overly picky - but will want the photos to be pretty...

    Yes! That's why I'm getting a new one!

    I'd like to hear your comments on this thread

    And as far as the 'megapixel wars' are concerned - the fact my prints will be going into a magazine at A4...
  16. :o)

    The pictures I posted are taken with a 3x zoom. I think the long zoom would be cool, but I need to print up to A4 (for a non-pro magazine) and portability is an issue.

    I can't even get the FZ15...

    My Fuji is essentially a point and click!

    I've just investigated it's properties (now I have an understanding!) The Aperture is F3.4 downwards) and it only has ISO 100.

    It does have quite bad...

    Thanks John!

    I think the FZ3 could be a good learning tool for me then and I can see whether I grow into SLR in the future!

    If you're at all interested you can see some pictures I took with my little Fuji2600Z...

    Thanks Propwash!

    Would you say to get the Panasonic over the Canon then?

    It's quite a big price difference - I've heard they're maybe not so good in a concert situation - which is very important to me.

    Any more...

    I'm having the same grapple

    FZ3 = 260
    FZ20 = 330
    G6 = 399

    I'm not bothered about movies either. I want to print up to 10x8. Portability is a plus. Cost is a factor.

    Would you say the zoom of the panasonics make them...

    On the strength of this thread...

    Would you recommend Canon G6 (399), Lumix FZ3 (260) or FZ20 (330)?

    I need high aperture and have been agonising between the 3. I need to print up to 8x10.

    Portability is also an issue.

  22. Concert Photography: Canon G6 Vs Lumix FZ3 or 20?

    Hi there,

    I want to 'ask Santa' for a decent camera for concert photography. The camera would also be my everyday snapper - so portability is a consideration.

    Here are previous images I have...
