Didn't you do your research before purchase? The rebel series are all smaller than the XXD series.

You will love RAW. It's much more forgiving when you don't shoot a perfect picture. :)

The Canon G12 or S95 are both smaller than the 40D with good Manual and RAW capabilities. I didn't say compact since that's a personal point of view. Maybe you can find a nice...
