These were some of my images that were recovered from a corrupted CF card.
These are all at Enchanted Rock in Fredericksburg, Texas. It is a nice ol' German town.
All of these were taken with my Sigma 20mm f/1.8 mostly at f/11.

Using the ever so helpful hyperfocal focusing to get everything in focus and sharp.
I did not have the circular polarizer on for this shot. The sky is cyan instead of blue. The clouds don't pop either. :(

Thanks for starting this thread. It should be interesting. Thanks also to Geoff, AlkaPhunk, and yourself for the nice landscapes already posted. Here is mine. This is a much photographed part of the Oregon coast near where the Pistol River enters the Pacific. It was taken with the Pentax 1stDS Kit Lens at 18mm, ISO 200, shutter 1/750th. BTW, I apologize for the false start on this post.

This is were I usually go fishing: it's in the middle of nowhere/Sweden, the forest is filled with elks, bears and wolves - and the river is full with salmon.
The wildlife and the nature of this landscape is amazing.

Well thanx, this gallery is just some tests pics relating to the 5900.
I'm quite pleased with it, just a few things i 'd have loved like manuals (as a95), longer shutter for night shots...
But it worth its money as an ultra-compact dc.
I'm planning to put online a real gallery (not only test pics) but don't know where exactly (pbase, smugmug..). They have lot of peeps looking around there, but it ain't free sadly... So i'm still thinking if it worth the 23$ a year to have my pics seen quite worlwide ;)

i'm a guy who likes to break rules--especially stupid ones like the rule of thirds, not letting the horizon bisect your picture, and using wide lenses for landscapes. here is a shot shot at something like 200mm, in a bizzare vertical oreination.

Here's a few pictures of "landscapes" i've got. I think they vaguely fit into this thread! Hope so anyway. The beach is at a place called Bamburgh in Northumberland on the east cost of the UK. The other two are in Durham, UK which is where i've just finished university - i'm going back home to somewhere that doesn't have nearly as good views!

I really appreciate any pictures I see of the Grand Canyon. Here is a picture I took with my Nikon N65 over Memorial day weekend. I took the film to Walmart to have them convert it to Jpeg for me. Not sure if its them or the film, but there is a little too much sharpness!

Since I get up there about 3 or 4 times a year here is a small collection. It's funny that most people never get further than Grand View. I actually like the East Canyon (by Desert View) more than the West Canyon as the tourists seem to thin out as you head east. One of my goals this year is to get over to the North Rim and Vermillion Cliffs. I don't see many pictures from the High Side.Quote:

I see a little vignetting in that left corner there George ... ;) ... the only time I experienced it with my Sigma was using it at 18mm with the CP filter attached but easily fixable though.

btw, which software did you use to "stitch" them up?
thanks :) .. i use arcsoft panorama maker .. it did a nice job of fixing the exposure differences between each shot .. much better than the photostitch that comes with canon software.Quote:

Hello to all... I have a question about the panoramic photos.
First of all, I'm expecting my S2 from Dell the end of the month. (Ship date of 7/25, like so many others on here.)
I've got an opportunity to participate in a "campout" inside Busch Stadium in St. Louis. Will get to be on the field all night. I would like to take some photos of the inside of the stadium, all the way around, and make myself a miniature version of the stadium, sort of a shrine, since the original will be demolished after this season. Any suggestions on how best I can "recreate" the inside of Busch Stadium with my S2? Can you "stitch" more than two pictures together to make a panoramic?

tripod would be ideal to keep the camera in same position but you can get away without one (you definitely need a tripod if its nightime though). the two picture i did above were without tripod. just keep your leg still and move your body to take the pictures.
just keep shooting until your memory card is full :)

Wow What a cool thing to do! Yes! you can stich more than 2 photos together to create a panorama. There are also free image editors out there, one I tried was 360 panorama I think... do a google search on it, what it essentially lets you do is create a quicktime image that is a 360 degree panorama, it allows you to stitch together all the frames it would take to photography busch stadium with plenty of overlap between frames... then when you export it you have an image you can open in quick time and with your mouse drag around and change your view... pretty much just like a 360 view of a car online is... do use a tripod to ensure smooth image transitions.
I might add a suggestion to shoot the stadium in portrait mode and stich those portrait photos together so you don't have to do multiple pass landscape wise.
