CS2: Converted to B&W using channel mixer. Burned out the background to total black. Some dodging & burning on the face. Added gaussian blur to try and get the "glamour glow". Then used a layer mask to bring back the sharpness in the lips and eyes.

Hankbeblazin do you have any more pics of the homeless guy. Such an interesting face. His eyes burn through you. I bet he would have an interesting story behind his life.
no sorry bynx it was a quick shot i paid him 2 bucks i didn't wanna bug him too much it turned out pretty good though his eyes are so sad
The fellow looks like a cross between Chad Everett and Ernest Hemingway as done by Karsh. Id pay another 2 bucks to see another pic. Too bad there are no more. Once the company I worked for hired a homeless person. Everybody treated him rather badly. One day I found out he was an incredible pianist if he stayed away from the booze. There is always an interesting story behind every homeless person. Always a reason for their situation, whether mental, financial, or just plain circumstances and if you ask you might be surprised who the person is behind the dirt.
if i see him again i'll take more pictures i like taking pictures of homeless they evoke so much emotion. i'll probably see him again i'll be sure to take more for ya
lol pay me 2 bucks sure haha j/k
I got in some portrait practice today with the help of my gf. The first 3 were taken at f/2.8 which I think turned out a little too shallow for #2 as her right eye isn't quite in focus. #4 was taken at f/4. Any C&C appreciated.
i like number 4 the best, the leaves make the picture
I too like #4, but the girl makes the picture. The lighting is perfect.
4 is also my favorite
Thanks guys. I took the first 3 down at the creek but on the way back up I saw the color of the ground and had to get one more. :D
i did something similar with the changing leaves wengler

Hank, great image, i love your images of people. i still need to learn how to capture people images because my wife forces me to delete all images with her appearance. she does not like them. funny enough the only image she likes is the one taken with film camera many years ago by her school mate (girl). PS: please no dirty jokes, she is not a pink:D
Very nice Hank. This the same girl that was in the bathroom shot?
haha this is a not a grade A photo for sure but I got a good laugh out of it.....this was during a bad wind storm last week and he was not thrilled when I asked him to pose for me.

Here is a pic from halloween that was taken on my nursing pub crawl. Guess which one is me:) This was not taken with my S3, but with my HP R707. I dont dare take the S3 out when I'm drinking, it would get lost for sure

yeah its my girlfriend i was doing test shots for locations because i have a couple models who want some portfolio pictures. thanks!
Thanks, Gintaras, all you have to do is convince her shes gorgeous and she'll let ya. hopefully. that or never show her pictures of her you took haha.
I like the idea in this photo of making the star of the shot in colour and the rest in B&W - I would have also removed the red eye while I was a it - great job and it proves you can still make interesting shots even when you arn't using your better camera
well done!
Thanks for the comments but I forgot to mention my friend took the shot with my camera. As I am the murdered prom queen in the pic:):)
My friends like this pic too and don't even mind that I stole the show by making them B&W. I think I might make one for each of them, highlighting them individually in each pic, like I did for myself here:)
Took a walk around the circus while they were practicing...very hard subjects to shoot and lighting was a nightmare for me!
