THis is my Gf's Son. He loves the attention from the camera and the flash . S o whenever i point the camera towards him he looks straight into the camera. THis was taken miday inside one windowed kitchen area using my Canon powershot S2 in AUTO mode. How do you all like it?
I really like it. I like the action blur in the teeth, and I think you managed the lighting very well. Great shot!
Thanks Dude. I have beeing doing a lot of adjustments before taking any shot eventhough i dont know much about photography. There was few informative posts in here from which i learned something about shutter speed, aperture and some techie terms.
Thanks for the appreciation toriaj. This really gives me lots of confidence.
C&C Welcome

I work in the mall at a camera store. I get plenty of chances to photograph people. I like these shots for some reason more than any others I've taken.

In this picture, the child's face is illuminated from the display glass thats across from her. She's standing next to a jewlery stand and the sun is reflected off the chains and necklaces.
I believe I was using a Nikon D50 with a Nikon 70-300 lens.
My wife, at the Fair. I just like how the light plays from different angles on her face.
I did another family shoot at the JW Marriott in Las Vegas. Here are a few of my favorite shots. Comments and Feedback are appreciated.

They are very nice! What setup did you use?
I really like the posing in the one of the kids with the tree. Helps it to feel more natural. In the "family portrait," I find the tree growing between mom and dad to be distracting, but I can tell you made an effort not to have it grow out of anyone's head! And what do you think of their choice to wear brown shirts and blue jeans? Kind of makes the hair/faces blend in, and the legs pop? But I always like brunettes in brown. Great work!
Yeah I was thinking about PP to get rid of that tree, but thats too much work for me lol. I tried different angles but thats the best I could see, for that given spot which I thought was pretty good. I will be much more selective next shoot that I do there!
this just came up while doing some photos with a girl I work with who is very photogenic what do you guys think and which do you like better same pic one retouched one not.

Cute shot! How did you get the distorted effect? Was it with a wide-angle lens, shot close-up?
These photos were taken in theatre.
This is a photo of a homeless guy, drunk and yelling...though no one really paid attention to him.
I'm not sure of the legality of posting recognizable people on a website without permission, so here's this one.

I couldn't resist capturing this Parisian couple through my Nikon D70. Love their pose!!
Welcome to the forum, Mishti. Good to have you here, not to mention your great pics :D
Thankyou so much toriaj! (Is that your name? I'm sorry if it's not! I tried to look your profile up - for your name - but couldn't find it)
One of my passions in life is photography and I chanced upon this website while looking for some tips and techniques to create 'multiplicity' or 'cloning' pictures. I've been taking pictures for about two years now and almost always find myself taking people shots. The emotional reactions that a person's picture is capable of stirring, I believe, cannot be replicated by inanimate subjects. :)
Here's another picture that I clicked this summer. I almost feel awful hiding in ambush with my lens and hopefully waiting for the sad little girl to burst into tears. But oh well, a photographer's gotta do what a photographer's gotta do!

No worries, my name isn't in my profile anyway :D It's Tori.
I have to agree. I haven't taken many pictures of people, but I'd like to take more, especially now that I live in a slightly more inhabited location
I would LOVE to be doing that. How do you get into position without her seeing you? REALLY long lens? I had fun "sniping" pictures at my family reunion. People didn't like knowing that I had taken their picture when they weren't looking, but they sure liked the photos when they saw them :D
My little bro(Bradley)and his son(Jayden)on Christmas day.
I got to practice my people skills yesterday. :)

In Japan Comming of Age Day is held in early January and celebrates a person moving into adulthood. While the guys wear a smart suit the girls get dressed up in formal kimonos for the occassion. On the day, all around Tokyo you will see women dressed like this. It is interesting to see the mix of the old, a kimono, with the new, a mobile phone firmly attached to the ear.

I like this next one due to the subject. my fiance plays with these gas and remote powered vehicles. I also like how the background is blurred out.

Nice captures, Surf. I think the sepia tones add to it as well.
